Pink Pickle

Last Saturday, the Pink Pickle's met up for good food, fun and quilting. I was tickled pink (pun intentional) to see how every one's blocks turned out. The (block) pattern called for selecting 4 fabrics: a light pink, dark pink, green and white. I loved seeing the color choices! Every one's take was different and no two fabrics were the same. To see all the pictures and a full detail of the day click here.

This is my block. The light pink was a loose weave fabric and it gave me a run for my money! But with some tender words and coercion, I was very pleased with how my blocks turned out.

Tammy and Jeanette were wonderful hostess and the food was delicious. I stayed close to the kitchen!! (That is me on the right, not far from the food!)

I love this block. To clarify, I've always loved this design, but I really like the colors & fabric you have chosen. This is going to be a beautiful quilt. Can't wait to see how your progress.

Thanks for sharing.

What a great quilt - love all the different pink tones used. Looks like a fun get together.

I am always amazed at quilting - it looks like tedious work, and once it's put together into a quilt, it's absolutely beautiful! How fun that you and your friends get together to do this!

So, I saw a book cover the other day called... something "persian pickle" (I think?) about a group of quilting friends who solve a mystery... does that have anything to do with your Pink Pickles name?

those are some beautiful blocks! So intricate up close, but they look simple and geometrical in the final quilt

I still have quilting on my to-do list. I've made loads of baby blankets over the years, but never any kind of quilt. These blocks are gorgeous!

Camille,Yes our group has everything to do with that book, I read it and about 59 pages into the book I thought that would be cool to have a pickle of our own ,loved the idea of a close knit group of friends ,sharing and doing for one another. Plus quilting is a great thing to share.

This looks like so much fun! That block turned out really cute too -- I'm assuming this is the quilt that will go to the Susan B. Komen foundation?
